The Special Meeting of the Board of Selectmen was called to order at 12:02 p.m. via Zoom.3
Present were: First Selectman Wendy Mackstutis; Deputy First Selectman Steven Antonio;4
Board members Curtis Looney, Diana Yeisley, Mike Paine and Kevin Beal. Others in attendance5
included: Town Manager Marc Nelson and Deputy Town Manager Tom Fitzgerald.6

a) Approve Public Gathering Permit – America 250th Parade on July 11th

Ms. Mackstutis gave a brief background of why the Board was meeting today. Mr. Nelson16
clarified that we have received the insurance certificate for the event. Ms. Yeisley asked if extra17
trash cans would be needed, a short discussion around trash cans ensued. Mr. Nelson mentioned18
they could make the approval conditional on this item if the Board would like. There was a19
discussion on the amount of food trucks and the Board asked that the food trucks at the event are20
spread out enough to not cause the lines to become confusing.21

Ms. Yeisley made a motion effective July 1, 2026 to approve the public gathering application, as23
presented, for the America 250th Parade and to authorize the issuance of the public gathering24
permit for the event. Mr. Looney seconded the motion. All were in favor and the motion passed.25
