Title of Submission: Supplemental Appropriation – Hot Water Heaters at Simsbury Farms Clubhouse 2. Date of Board Meeting: June 15, 2026 3. Individual or Entity Making the Submission: Marc Nelson, Town Manager; Tom Tyburski, Director of Culture, Parks and Recreation 4. Action Requested of the Board of Selectmen: If the Board of Selectmen supports the supplemental appropriation request to expedite the replacement of the Simsbury Farms Golf Clubhouse hot water heaters, the following motions are in order: Move, effective June 15, 2026, to approve a supplemental appropriation in the amount of $33,154.17 for the purchase of new Hot Water Heating System for Simsbury Farms Golf Clubhouse and to recommend this to the Board of Finance 5. Summary of Submission: The Director of Culture, Parks and Recreation and the Parks Superintendent have reported the existing water heaters at the Simsbury Farms Golf Clubhouse are failing and are in need of immediate replacement. The Culture, Parks and Recreation Department staff are in the process of procuring multiple quotes for this work, the lowest quote to date is $33,154.17 from a trusted, local mechanical company who has done previous work for the Town of Simsbury. It is important that the replacement of the water heaters take place as soon as possible as a completely “failed” water heater could cause damage to the building and would also affect the operation of the golf course restaurant which needs hot water to meet health code requirements. The funds for this purchase would come from the Capital Reserve account. At this moment there aren’t available funds in the current fiscal year in the Parks and Recreation Fund golf facilities maintenance account as they have been expended or are currently encumbered. Should the supplemental appropriation for this request be approved, the requested funds would be available in the current fiscal year The Board of Finance will be asked to review this request at their meeting on June 16, 2026 6. Financial Impact: Staff is estimating costs to purchase new equipment to replace the failing old equipment at $33,154.17. Town staff has received one quote and is currently working with vendors to receive others. 7. Description of Documents Included with Submission: a) Photos of Current Hot Water Heaters
