Page 1 of 2 Simsbury Youth Service Advisory Board Regular Meeting Monday, March 30, 2026, at 2:30PM Simsbury High School Room 230 MINUTES On March 30, 2026, the Simsbury Youth Services Advisory Board met in person. Present: Rachael Loveland (Social Services), Amy Papale (Simsbury Public Schools), Mary Richardson (Simsbury Public Library), Caitrin Huysman (CP&R), Jamie Clout (CP& R), Diana Yeisley (BOS), Yusra Ali (SHS Student Representative). Meeting called to order at 2:33 PM. There was no public comment. Minutes were approved from the previous YAB meeting, motion to approved made by M Richardson & seconded by C. Huysman, all in favor. Conversation around CPR training, lifeguard training and more to help youth become employable as youth look towards summer. A group conversation around future planning for a youth employment event were discussed. No report from Simsbury School Resource Officer. Simsbury Public Schools reports that it’s the start of DEI week and there are events and things happening all week that focus on the student experience in relation to diversity and inclusion. Recreation Department reports that they have just wrapped up interviews for camp staff. Simsbury Flashlight Egg Hunt is this Thursday at Simsbury High School. Simsbury Community Clean Up is April 25th and there is a sign up posted but not required. April Vacation camps and a lot of summer programs still have availability. Touch a Truck is June 20th. Youth Advisory Board Meeting Minutes March 30, 2026 Page 2 of 2 Simsbury Teen Librarian reports a college prep presentation for rising Seniors on Wednesday at the library. For Earth Day, there is a knitting class to turn an old t-shirt into a tote bag. Simsbury Pride Picnic on June 1st and Summer Reading Program kicks off on June 22nd. Simsbury Social Services noted upcoming Intergenerational Tye-Dye as the last big event before summer on June 18th. Simsbury Youth Service Bureau will be partnering with Simsbury High School to host a presentation for parents focused on what you need to know type conversation before heading off to college on April 29th at 7 PM. Board Liaison report notes that there is an upcoming public hearing scheduled for April 7th. 3 grants were submitted to the State to help off-set costs for several town projects including a splashpad, drainage and Eno roof and encouraged people to call their Senators to stress the importance of these. Simsbury will see several events this year including Juneteenth Celebration on 6/20 with Fireworks, a Parade for America’s 250th as well as a Memorial Day Parade. With no other business, meeting was adjourned at 3:10 PM. .
