POLICE COMMISSION REGULAR MEETING
MARCH 9, 2026
1. CALL TO ORDER
The meeting of the Police Commission was called to order by Commissioner Caulfield, at
5:00 P.M. in the Board of Education Conference Room of the Simsbury Town Offices. In
attendance were Commissioner Jenna Caulfield, Commissioner Tenesha Grant,
Commissioner Chris Kelly, Commissioner James Traficante, Chief Nicholas Boulter, and
Deputy Chief Chris Davis. Absent was Chair Eric Lemke.

Commissioner Caulfield read the summary of letters received since the last meeting of the
commission on February 9, 2026.
4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
a. After a motion was made by Commissioner Grant and seconded by Commissioner
Traficante, it was unanimous:
VOTED: To approve the minutes of the February 9, 2026 Regular Meeting.
b. After a motion was made by Commissioner Grant and seconded by Commissioner
Traficante, it was unanimous:
VOTED: To approve the minutes of the February 26, 2026 Special Meeting.
5. REPORTS
a. Chairperson’s Report
i. Commissioner Caulfield spoke about attending the budget workshop and meeting.
She noted that although the request for an additional Dispatcher was not moving
forward in the budget, the board of selectman wanted to follow back up on this topic
when end of year savings is available as long as the current dispatcher vacancy had
been filled.
b. Chief’s Report
i. General- Thanks was extended to the commissioners for their attendance in the
budget workshop and meeting.
 Citizens Police Academy- Over the past few years the attendance for the
citizens police academy has decreased as many people are unable to commit to
the full 10-week program. This year the department has decided to try a new
model with modules. There will be multiple modules that will be repeated through
out the year, allowing citizens to attend the modules at their pace. More
information will be posted on the department website and social media pages.
i. Monthly Activity Report – January and February 2026- New format was
presented and discussion followed.
6. ADJOURNMENT
Commissioner Traficante made a motion to adjourn at 5:38 P.M., seconded by
Commissioner Grant. All were in favor and the motion passed.
