CALL TO ORDER – Chair Margery Winters called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M.9 10 Present: Margery Winters; Vice Chair, Jason Levy; Commission Members: Jason11 Berman, Donald Eaton; Charles Haldeman; Planning Director, George McGregor12 13 Absent: Secretary Joseph Campolieta; Commission Member Michael Luzietti and14 Alternate Commission Members: Sue Brittell and Alison Wilcox.15 16 II. APPROVAL OF MINUTES17 18 February 3, 2026, Regular Meeting19 20 MOTION: Commissioner Haldeman made a motion, seconded by Commissioner21 Berman, to approve the Minutes of February 3, 2026 Regular Meeting. The motion22 carried (4-0-1), Winters abstained.23 24 III. CONSERVATION COMMSSION BUSINESS25 26 Application CC #25-25 of McLean Affiliates, Inc., applicant and owner, for a wetland27 permit to construct 40 new residential units at the existing McLean Retirement28 Community with associated improvements that includes a wetland crossing and29 disturbance in the upland review area at 75 Great Pond Road (Assessor’s Map E08,30 Block 147, Lot 001) Simsbury, CT 06070, Zone R-40.31 32 The Commission discussed potential advisory recommendations to be transmitted to33 Zoning Commission related to its future review of a site plan and special exception34 application on the subject property. Areas of recommendation included:35 36 • Lighting standards related to the Kelvin scale;37 • Tree Protection planning during the construction phase;38 Page 2 of 2 • Consideration of additional tree protection areas and or an enhanced tree39 planting plan;40 • Enhanced meadow and meadow edge plantings and maintenance, and;41 • Invasive plant management.42 43 The Commission directed Staff to prepare draft recommendations for review at the44 March 3, 2026 meeting.45 46 IV. ADJOURNMENT47 48 MOTION: Commissioner Haldeman made a motion, seconded by Vice Chair Levy,49 to adjourn the meeting.
