1 POLICE COMMISSION REGULAR MEETING JANUARY 12, 2026 1. CALL TO ORDER The meeting of the Police Commission was called to order by Commissioner Jenna Caulfield, at 5:03 P.M. in the Board of Education Conference Room of the Simsbury Town Offices. In attendance were Chair Tenesha Grant (by phone), Commissioner Jenna Caulfield, Commissioner Eric Lemke, Commissioner James Traficante, Chief Nicholas Boulter, and Deputy Chief Chris Davis. 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE 3. CORRESPONDENCE Commissioner Lemke read the summary of letters received since the last meeting of the commission on December 8, 2025. 4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES a. After a motion was made by Commissioner Caulfield and seconded by Commissioner Lemke it was unanimous: VOTED: To approve the minutes of the December 8, 2025 regular meeting. 5. REPORTS a. Chairperson’s Report i. Police Commission Vacancy: There are no updates on a new Police Commission candidate. b. Chief’s Report i. General Personnel: Deb Clark resigned from service as the Simsbury Animal Control Officer effective December 31, 2025. Deb was an asset to the department and will be missed. The department wishes her the best and their thoughts are with her during her fight. The Animal Control position has been advertised on both the town website and PoliceApp.com. Recent/upcoming events: Stuff-A-Cruiser- the annual Stuff-a-cruiser toy drive was held on December 16th and 17th at Tractor Supply was a great success. Most of the toys were given to Social Services for families in need who live in town while the remaining went to the Salvation Army. Skate and Share- The annual Skate and Share event at the Simsbury Farms Ice Rink was Tuesday, December 23. It was a great event to get to meet, greet and socialize with the community. It was well attended to include Santa and Mrs. Claus. Trends/Info: A reminder to the public that the Police Department has an interactive dashboard on the website where anyone can look at a variety data. www.simsbury-ct.gov/police-emergency ii. NEW BUISNESS a. 2026 Elections of the Police Commission Positions Police Commission Chair: After a motion was made by Commissioner Traficante and seconded by Commissioner Caulfield it was unanimous: VOTED: To approve the election of Commissioner Lemke as Police Commission Chair for 2026. Police Commission Clerk: After a motion was made by Commissioner Lemke and seconded by Commissioner Grant it was unanimous: VOTED: To approve election of Commissioner Caulfield as Police Commission Clerk for 2026. 7. ADJOURNMENT Commissioner Caulfield made a motion to adjourn at 5:15 P.M., seconded by Commissioner Lemke. All were in favor and the motion passed.
