During the Summit, law enforcement agencies of various sizes from throughout Connecticut were recognized as award winners in the State’s Law Enforcement Challenge for 2015. The Challenge is a traffic safety awards program that focuses on three major traffic safety priorities: occupant protection, impaired driving and speeding. The CTLEC is supported by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the Connecticut Police Chief’s Association (CPCA) and the Connecticut Department of Transportation (CT DOT). The Simsbury Police Department was presented with two awards for 2015 Traffic Safety Programs. The Simsbury Police Department received the, “Best Overall Occupant Protection Safety Program” for the fourth year in a row and Honorable Mention for Overall Traffic Safety Enforcement” for the second year in a row based on the size of the municipality.
