Fatal Motor Vehicle Accident
Simsbury, CT August 24, 2016
On Wednesday, August 24, 2016, at 11:27 AM, the Simsbury Police Department received a
report of a motor vehicle accident in front of 282 Hopmeadow Street. This was a one car motor
vehicle accident with the vehicle traveling off of the road and striking a large tree.
The operator, and only occupant, was transported to St. Francis Hospital by the Simsbury
Volunteer Ambulance Association. While at the hospital the operator subsequently died from
their injuries. At this time the name of the deceased is not being released pending notification to
immediate family.
The motor vehicle crash remains under investigation by members of the Simsbury Police
Department.
