Stolen Motor Vehicle/Suicidal Person
Simsbury, CT January 28, 2016
On Thursday, January 28, 2016, at 01:04 PM, the Simsbury Police Department received a report
of a motor vehicle that was stolen out of Hartford, Connecticut. It was reported that the operator
was talking to the Hartford Police Department and was making threats of harming themselves.
The vehicle was spotted in Simsbury and seen traveling down a dead end street (George Street).
Officers from the Avon Police Department and Simsbury Police Department saturated the area.
The vehicle was found near a swamp after it drove across a lawn, striking a tree and down an
embankment. The operator fled from the vehicle and broke into a home on Ardsley Way. An
officer located the suspect in the home and the suspect was detained without incident.
The operator was transported to St. Francis Hospital for evaluation. At this time the incident is
under investigation and an arrest warrant will be sought for the appropriate charges.
