Burglaries in Southern Section of Simsbury

Ingvertsen Contact: Captain Nicholas Boulter Simsbury Police Department 933 Hopmeadow Street Simsbury, CT 06070 Phone (860) 658-3106 Fax (860) 658-3103 Press Release – Residential and Commercial Burglaries Simsbury, CT September 23, 2014 The Simsbury Police Department is currently investigating several residential and commercial burglaries in the southern section of Simsbury. These burglaries have occurred on Lincoln Lane, Harding Drive, Hopmeadow Street, West Mountain Road, Sand Hill Road, Evans Drive and Fernwood Road since July 2014. Entry was gained into most of the homes through locked basement or first floor windows. Entry was gained into the businesses through forcing ground floor windows. The Department is also investigating two attempted nighttime burglaries, one on Oak Glen Court and one on Fawnbrook Lane. Detectives and patrol officers are working with homeowners and neighbors to solve these crimes and to prevent future burglaries. The Department has increased the presence of officers and is working closely with surrounding police departments.
