The Simsbury Police Department and the North Central Municipal Accident Reconstruction
Squad is investigating a fatal motor vehicle accident that occurred on Owens Brook Boulevard in
the area of Horseshoe Circle. The Simsbury Police Department received several 911 calls on
May 8, 2013 at approximately 12:42 AM. First responders arrived and discovered one vehicle
resting on the roof. The driver of the vehicle was ejected from the vehicle and died of his
injuries at St. Francis Hospital. An additional occupant in the vehicle sustained non-life
threatening injuries and was taken to St. Francis Hospital for treatment. The accident is currently
under investigation.
The driver of the vehicle has been identified as 22 year old Douglas P. Hesketh of Simsbury.
The passenger was released from the hospital. He has been identified as Michael D. Nathan of
Simsbury.
