Simsbury Police Department “In Partnership with our Community” Contact: Lieutenant Nicholas Boulter Simsbury Police Department 933 Hopmeadow St. Simsbury, CT 06070 Phone (860) 658-3106 Fax (860) 658-3103 Press Release Simsbury, CT May 2, 2012 On May 1, 2012 the Simsbury Police Department Animal Control Officer responded to a residence on Notch Road in Simsbury because two dogs were fighting with a skunk. The skunk was injured and taken to the Department of Public Health (DPH) for testing. On May 2, 2012 the Simsbury Police Department was informed by DPH that the skunk tested positive for rabies. If you, someone you know or any domesticated animals came into contact with a skunk in the area of Notch Road within the last two weeks, we recommend that you contact your doctor or veterinarian for advice.
