Simsbury Police Department “In Partnership With Our Community” Contact: Lieutenant Nicholas Boulter Simsbury Police Department 933 Hopmeadow St. Simsbury, CT 06070 Phone (860) 658-3106 Fax (860) 658-3103 Press Release Simsbury, CT March 23, 2012 On March 22, 2012 Dyno Nobel donated a new police bicycle to the Simsbury Police Department in support of the Department’s public safety efforts. Dyno Nobel Plant Engineering Manager Richard Higley presented the bike to Town First Selectman Mary Glassman, Police Commissioner Michael T. Long, Chief Peter N. Ingvertsen and his staff at a Dyno Nobel employee meeting. The Simsbury Police Department has numerous certified bicycle members. Officers use the bikes to patrol parks and recreational areas, the central section of town, schools, special events and the 7 miles of greenway through the Town. The officers also use the bike to promote general bicycle safety through education and bike rodeos. The addition of this bike from Dyno Nobel will enhance the Department’s ability to promote a safe bicycling environment.
