DEI Council
Unjudge someone at the Simsbury Public Library!
Join us at this special event on Saturday, March
28th from 10 AM – 2 PM for the opportunity to
check out a ‘Book’ from our Human Library.
Talk openly with local human volunteers about
their unique backgrounds, identities, and lived
experiences. Ask questions and challenge
prejudice through dialogue and connection.
Police
At a special police commission meeting on February 26th Christopher Bragg was approved to be
Simsbury’s newest police officer. Christopher served 4 years in the Air Force, is relocating here
from Pennsylvania, and has family in the area.
He will begin the New Britain Police Academy on March 27th. We held a brief swearing-in
ceremony on March 2nd at 9 AM, the same day he reports for duty!
Planning & Community Development
The Town is updating our zoning regulations and we need your input! Join us for an interactive
workshop to share ideas that will shape the future of your community. The workshop is on
Monday, March 30th at 7 PM in the Simsbury Public Library.
Chamber of Commerce
On February 27th I attended the Business Leaders Breakfast at the Simsbury Inn! Great event!
Cotton Candy Fabrics & Quilts held a Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on March
5th and they are located at Simsbury Town Shops – 926 Hopmeadow Street. Check them out!
