Staff and guests enjoyed her presentation and mingled during a luncheon. Planning & Community Development Department The Zoning Commission and Planning & Community Development Department hosted a community forum to talk about temporary business signs on Thursday, January 29th at 6:30 P.M. in the Simsbury Public Library Tariffville Room. Charter Revision Commission Congratulations to all the Commissioners for completing their final meeting and public hearing. Their Proposed Charter and Draft Report now go to the Selectmen. Thank you to Town Attorney Bob and Management Specialist Barrueco for all their hard work! Town Manager’s Office At the January 30th CIRMA Annual Meeting, our staff Safety Committee was awarded an “Excellence in Risk Management Award” (ERMA) for ‘Establishing Risk Management as an Organizational Priority’ and a $2,500 check! Great job team! Also, on the same day, the Town closed on purchasing the 2 Farms Village Road property. The purchase of this property, located immediately adjacent to the Simsbury High School, will permit the establishment of in- district special education services, reducing our reliance on the outplacement of students at significantly higher cost. You can find more information from the January 13, 2025 BOS meeting and February 18, 2025 BOF meeting. Chamber of Commerce Please welcome new local business: Simsbury Dental Associates! They held a ribbon cutting ceremony on January 29th and they are located at 381 Hopmeadow Street, Suite 302. - Thank you for reading my Town Manager’s Report.
