Selectwoman Yeisley and Selectman Beal also made an appearance! Our second annual Holiday Door Decorating Contest concluded with the Tax Collector’s Office winning first place! You can still see First Selectman Mackstutis’ letter, poster, and medals outside the Town Hall mailroom. Check it out! Planning & Community Development The Zoning Commission and Planning & Community Development Department will be hosting a community forum to talk about temporary business signs on Thursday, January 29th at 6:30 P.M. at the Simsbury Public Library Tariffville Room. Members of the community are encouraged to attend and provide feedback. There will be a short educational segment discussing what the Town’s sign rules are followed by a small group breakout session. Registrar of Voters Congratulations to Susan Salina, who retired January 8th after serving six (6) years as Republican Registrar of Voters. The Registrar’s job often goes unnoticed when elections run smoothly, so it’s worth noting that during Susan’s tenure, Simsbury voters safely cast ballots during the COVID-19 pandemic, during hotly-contested elections, and through changes in voting laws and technology. We wish happy travels to Susan and her husband Tom. Also, please join me in welcoming Jennifer Batchelar, who was sworn in on January 8th, as Susan’s successor! Culture, Parks & Recreation The Culture, Parks and Recreation Department’s summer program registration will be held the week of January 26. Special dates and times have been setup for our most popular program areas so that everything goes smoothly, please check the www.SimsburyRec.com website and www.facebook.com/SimsburyParksandRec to get the information you need for your family’s summer planning.
