Town Manager’s Report

Library:
Pamela Sikora is retiring after 40 years of service to the Town. She
has touched the lives of thousands of residents and we wish her luck
in the next chapter of her life. Thanks Pam!
Community:
Fun Max Adventure Park is coming to 532 Bushy Hill Road! Their
Grand Opening is scheduled for September 27th. Connect with the
Chamber of Commerce to learn more at www.simsburycoc.com.
Also, Connecticut’s second largest outdoor entertainment venue is getting an upgrade!
On September 18th, the Town of Simsbury and
the Simsbury Performing Arts Center (SPAC)
held a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate
the start of construction for the Next Act
building, a bandshell expansion that will allow
SPAC to host more impactful events.
This public-private partnership was made
possible through the support from the State of
Connecticut, the Simsbury Board of Selectmen,
generous philanthropic donors, and the
residents of Simsbury.
Speakers included: SPAC President Jeff Dornenburg; Lieutenant Governor Susan Bysiewicz;
State Representative Melissa Osborne; and First Selectman Wendy Mackstutis. State Senator
Paul Honig was also in attendance. You can find the video by clicking here.
Town Hall Clocktower Rededication Ceremony:
Go check out our renovated clocktower courtesy of the Ensign-Bickford Foundation and the
Simsbury Volunteer Fire Company.
We held a rededication ceremony on September 8th. You can find the footage by clicking here.
Ethel Walker School:
I would like to take a moment to thank Head of School Dr. Meera Viswanathan for taking the
time to present to the Board of Selectmen on September 8th regarding all the wonderful
happenings at EWS. You can find the meeting recording by clicking here.
Public Works:
On September 10th, Public Works set the timber
bridge built by Central Connecticut State
University (CCSU) students in place at Lake
Basile.
They presented their idea, to replace the old
bridge at the Lake with a brand new one, to the
Board of Selectmen in May. You can find the
video here.
Great job kids!
Staff:
Our Engineering Administrative
Secretary, Joan Sikorski, along with
other Town staff in their private
capacity, participated in the Creative
Living Community of Connecticut
(CLCC) 9th Annual Golf Tournament
recently and raised $325!
All funds go to assisting adults with
developmental disabilities. For more
information, click here.
