Community:
Our Hometown Hero Ceremony on June 16th was a
massive success! Congratulations to this year’s
Heroes:

On June 18th, we held
a ceremony to
officially reopen the
iconic Old Drake Hill
Flower Bridge.
Thank you to all
those that attended,
our elected officials,
and our Town staff
that made this
possible.
On Juneteenth, I
had the honor of
reading the
Governor’s
proclamation for
Peter & Esther
Jackson at their
monument
unveiling
ceremony.
I was featured on First Selectman Wendy Mackstutis’

Paw Meadow Dog Park Fundraiser
It will be held outside of Paw Meadow Dog Park on
Sunday, June 22nd from 10am-2pm: we will have a
vendor fair with 12+ local vendors, a pet photo contest
with PMDP prize baskets, and are strongly
encouraging attendees to bring pet-related donation
items to our donation truck where all donations will
be given to The Simon Foundation.
Public Safety:
On May 20th, Union President Susan Everest and I
signed a new Dispatcher’s multi-year collective
bargaining agreement!
Police:
Our autism awareness traffic stop interview video is
live!

Public Works:
Household Hazardous Waste Collection
The Simsbury Public Works Department hosted a Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Collection
at the DPW facility at 66 Town Forest Road, West Simsbury, on Saturday, June 7, 2025. This was
the second of the three collections we hold annually in conjunction with the Towns of Avon,
Canton, Farmington, Granby, and Suffield. Saturday was well attended, with approximately 668
vehicles participating. Our HHW collections provide an opportunity to dispose of items that cannot
go into the regular trash, keeping hazardous materials from being deposited into the landfill.
The next collection will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025. Residents can find more
information on which items will be accepted at this collection by visiting the following:

Town Forest Park Pond Drawdown
The pond in Town Forest Park will be drained in the next few weeks to allow
for dredging to take place later this summer. The dredging work will prevent
the pond from being choked by sediments and ultimately improve water
quality.
Eno Memorial Hall – Entrance Improvement
Work on the south side entrance at Eno Memorial Hall began
last week. Work on the construction of this new ADA accessible
entrance will be completed this summer.
Once this work is completed the Town will begin reconstruction
on the Eno parking lot, followed by transitioning Station Street
from one-way to two-way traffic.
Town Clerk:
Please join us in welcoming Christine Campasano as an
Assistant Town Clerk in our Town Clerk’s Office! Christine
has worked for the Town of Simsbury for over 6 years and
brings a wealth of knowledge about the Town from her
positions in both the building and tax offices.
We are excited to have her join our team!
Library:
Summer Reading Program for all ages begins Monday, June 16th. Visit the Library website at
www.simsburylibrary.info or stop in the Library for more details!

Culture, Parks & Recreation:
Construction on the long-awaited Tariffville pickle
ball courts is complete! Look out for information
online for the grand opening of this exciting addition
to Tariffville Park!
Town Manager’s Office:
Deputy Town Manager Tom Fitzgerald was recently
elected Treasurer of the Connecticut Town and City
Manager Association (CTCMA) by his peers at their
annual meeting held last week.
Tom has been on the executive board of CTCMA this past
year as an at-large member!
